Artist in Residency

For the inaugural AIR program, we are inviting artists from across North America to gather on the ancestral land of Tongva peoples to create a deeper practice of uncovering the unique stories that the land tells us through the environmental and geographical resources.

We value the ability of artists to move the hearts creatively through visual, audible and literary languages. We believe that artists are essential in promoting the work of peace.

Why are we gathering?

  • Connect  Korean North American artists interested in intersectional conversations around art, identity, faith, and peace

  • Explore the Tongva land as part of the Korean Diaspora and learn its rich stories and resources

  • Co-create with the natural resources from the region to better understand our connection

Why are artists important in the work we do?

Peace requires imagination, a creative way seeing and living into the New Creation (2 Cor 5:17).   We see artists as modern-day prophets; they help interpret the time we are in. We value their abilities to make the intangible tangible and the ordinary sacred. We recognize and appreciate their gifts as essential in promoting the work of peace.
