Hidden LA Learning Tour: Placekeeping Indigenous, Latinx and AAPI Terrain

The migrant and diasporic experiences of Indigenous, Latinx, and Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities are rich and diverse, yet they are often shaped by systems of oppression that seek to isolate and erase their histories and commonalities. Invisible borders are erected and overlaid across the same geographical landscapes, creating tensions and divisions. Despite these challenges, Indigenous, Latinx communities find each other at the intersections, in the ways they seek to survive, connect, resist, and thrive in the face of xenophobia, racism, gentrification and neoliberal policies.

Unless we know ourselves and our history, and other people and their history, there is really no way that we can really have positive kind of interaction where there is real understanding.
