ReconciliAsian End of Year Report

Annual Report 2021

Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits. (Psalm 103:2)

What a year it has been. In the midst of a long and hard pandemic year of continued grief and loss, we look back at 2021 and give thanks to God who has been with us. We began the year with the theme of Jubilee unpacking what that means for us at this extraordinary time. We created space to reimagine what the Year of the Lord's Favor could be like in our relationship to the land and man-made borders. We explored how the liberative message of the gospel could transform worship and empower us in the deep work of anti-racism and decolonization. We recognized the trauma of war- especially the Korean War and Iraq War that continues to devastate our countries. We ended the year with a four-week webinar on embodying the call and care for God's creation that circled us back to the vision of Jubilee.

In addition to the webinars, we now have four cohorts that meet regularly to deepen our discipleship: Korean Diaspora cohort, North Korea study cohort, women's writing cohort, and Asian Anabaptist cohort. We are so grateful for the rich relationships and conversations that have flowed in these cohorts.

In summary, we offered 17 webinars and reached over 500 people through our programs this pandemic year thanks to your support and participation.

End of year fundraising update

We want to thank all of you who have participated in our end-of-year fundraising that began in November. Our goal was to match the $3,500 that ReconciliAsian board and staff members initiated. We are thrilled to announce that in the past month, you have helped us not only to surpass our goal of $7,000, but raised $19,887.25. We have no adequate words to express our surprise and gratitude.

Some of you showed up with monetary donations via Facebook, Paypal, and checks while others donated items for the yard sale in November. We are always in awe of our awesome supporters that keep this small organization thriving.

50 people donated in this campaign of which 20 are new donors.

We celebrate this successful with you and hope you will continue to join us with your prayerful and financial support in 2022.
