Join Us in Sustaining a Decade of Peacebuilding

Thank you to over 200 people who came to the Drawing Hope art exhibit from November 1-11, 2023
"The Drawing Hope exhibit was seeing a glimpse of the kingdom of God." -F. Sanchez

As we approach the conclusion of 2023, our hearts overflow with gratitude for the incredible journey we've shared together. This year, ReconciliAsian marked its ten-year milestone with an array of impactful events, including the Korean Peninsula Peace and Reconciliation Conference,  Artist in Residency program, and the Drawing Hope art exhibit. Through these initiatives, we've engaged with over 500 individuals through workshops, speaking engagements, and webinars. None of this would have been possible without your unwavering support, and for that, we're profoundly thankful to each one of you.

Our vibrant community of supporters, some of whom have stood by us since the inception of ReconciliAsian, alongside the wonderful individuals and organizations we've connected with along the way, have been the pillars that have sustained the organization.

Now, as we turn toward the coming year, we envision a crucial period of reflection, strategic planning, and preparation for the next phase of ReconciliAsian.

In our discussions with leaders spanning North America and Korea, the desire to explore the possibilities of creating peace centers in their respective contexts has emerged. We recognize the importance of empowering and resourcing emerging leaders who carry the passion and vision. Additionally, we aim to enrich our toolkit by sharpening our peacebuilding skills to share with others. This endeavor demands time for contemplation, study, and research—essential components in crafting what our mentor, John Paul Lederach, called "healing wells"—places that foster conversation, rejuvenation, and spiritual transformation (John 4: 1-26).

As people of faith, we often say that "it was God who provided". Indeed, this is true, but we also acknowledge that God provides through people, people like you. Your continued support is integral to the sustenance of our mission.

With deepest gratitude,

Snapshots from Artist in Residency (AiR) Program in Topanga Canyon (August 24-27, 2023)

Artist in Residency (AiR) gave me a fresh perspective to examine what it means to be part of the Korean Diaspora living as an immigrant on a foreign land longing for our ultimate home. More than anything, I found true companions on the road who are living as sojourners on the land. I return to Vancouver with profound stories from Topanga that will remain with me. -C. Baeck

Snapshots from Korean Peninsula Peace and Reconciliation Mini Conference (June 29, 2023)

The synergy from this conference stemmed from an ongoing two-year conversation between Christian theologians, social scientists, and peace practitioners studying the social and political situation in the Korean Peninsula. It was even more powerful and impactful than I had imagined.
-Dr. Kiho Han
